Horse Riding at Ashford Castle
The Ashford Equestrian Centre is situated within easy walking distance of the Castle on the Ashford Estate. Rides can be enjoyed over the beautiful wooded countryside between the shores of Lough Corrib and Lough Mask and into the mountains of Connemara to the West.
We cater for complete beginners, families with young children, as well as experienced riders who may enjoy a fast canter amid breath taking lakeshore scenery. If outdoor jumping or hunting is more your thing this can be arranged in season with prior notice. Facilities include a large outdoor arena, indoor arena and twenty stables. We also provide history and nature tours on our horse drawn vehicles around the Ashford Estate.
For more experienced riders, longer rides are available. We offer half and full day tours. All rides are accompanied by an experienced guide. Protective headgear is supplied and must be worn by all participants.
Equestrian List & Prices:
- 1 or 2 Persons – €45.00 for a 1 hour private ride
- 2 Persons or more – €35.00 per person for a 1 hour trail ride
- 1 Person - €90.00 for a 2 hour ride
- 2 Persons or more - €65.00 per person – 2 hour trail ride
- Jaunting cart ride (3 persons) - €50 for 30 minutes
- Woodland Carriage Tour (5 persons) €150 for 90 minutes
